Mike

Born in County Wexford, the South East of the Emerald Isle, Michael has been involved with music all his life…………………………..

“What a performance”! Funge’s performance was applauded by young and old in the audience. Whether performing at a "hoouley" (an Irish party)  in “the cousin’s kitchen”, the grander of The Royal Albert Hall in London, or on stage in the prestigious Carnegie Hall, New York, where he has just recently appeared, he has a winning way and a rich  musical talent” (The Brisbane Times
.)

Opened for many of the great Irish Artists, “The Dublin City Ramblers,” Christy Moore, Johnny McEvoy, “The Wolf Tones”, Daniel O’Donnell, Colum Wilkinson (of “Les Miserables” fame), Comedian Dave Allen, Foster & Allen, the late Frank Patterson and many more.

He has performed many times on RTE, (Irish Radio & TV )and on BBC and ITV (British TV and Radio)

Has regularly toured The United States, appearing in venues and halls, large and small, from; San Francisco, The Opera House Chicago, Washington, New York, Boston. One of his proudest moments was appearing on stage in The Carnegie Hall N.Y. for St. Patrick’s Day Celebration Concert. He has of course appeared in the “other” Carnegie Hall.

Appeared on stage at some of the largest US Irish Festivals.

His many tours include: the major cities of Britian, performing at The Royal Albert Hall London,The Civic Hall Glasgow, The Free Trade Hall Manchester, etc.

Has had six "sell out" tours of New Zealand and Australia with Barry Collins and
“The Irish Variety Show”.

Lately 2009, he has been invited to team up as part of Ireland’s most popular Folk Groups, The Dublin City Ramblers”, appearing in the group at many of their Concerts and Festivals throughout the USA. (A lifetime ambition fulfilled!)
